Welcome to The Pre-Marriage Course Online

The Pre-Marriage Course is a series of five sessions, designed for couples considering marriage, whether engaged or not, and wishing to build a strong and lasting relationship. While based on Christian principles, it is relevant and helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or church background. The founders, Nicky and Sila Lee, have been married for over forty years and speak regularly on relationships and marriage preparation. They are co-authors of The Marriage Book. How does it work?

The online course runs exactly as it would be if you were attending in person. If you are not in the same location, you can still do the course by each ordering a journal, watching the film of the relevant session simultaneously and conducting your conversations when indicated by Skype, FaceTime or Zoom.

• Each session lasts for 1 hour 45 minutes, half of which will be for your conversations.

• If you are in the same location, try to make it feel as special as possible. Be on your own and ensure you can have private conversations Don’t forget the candles, snacks, drinks.

When does it start?

Whenever you want! You can begin the course whenever you like after that and it will run for 5 consecutive weeks.

You can pick the time and day of the week that works best for both of you. We encourage you to pick a consistent time and night for the next 5 weeks that you can watch each session.

What happens when we sign up? 

Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email, and on the start date of the course we will send you the link for you to connect to the online sessions, which you will then be able to watch whenever you choose.  We will also run a weekly webinar for 5 consecutive Thursdays from 7-7:15pm which you are encouraged to join. We would recommend you watch the corresponding online session directly after the webinar, however, you are free to watch the sessions as and when you choose, if Thursday evenings are not convenient for you.

We will be running the course free of charge. The only cost you will incur is purchasing two course journals - you will need one each - and these can be bought: HERE

The Couple Survey
We send all couples registered on the course a questionnaire called the Couple Survey. The Couple Survey is completed online. The questionnaire will help you identify and recognise topics to discuss as a couple prior to marriage. If you would like to discuss the full report, and the relevant points raised, we will work with you to find a suitable Support Couple who will connect with you via Skype, FaceTime or Zoom. Since training is required to interpret the results, we will not pass a copy of the full report to you directly. We will email you details of the questionnaire around a week before the start of the course (if you register later than this, there will be a delay in receiving the survey).
